SLUDGE PADDLE DRYERS
Versatile Thermal Processing:
The Fenton/Gouda Paddle Dryer is a machine used to dry municipal waste water sludges to a Class A. It offers a proven design to cleanly and effectively convert  dewatered cake to a popular granular product.
Other processes vary from drying, cooling, crystallizing and calcinising to melting, evaporation, solvents, sterilizing, etc.
The Fenton/Gouda Paddle Dryer has a heated trough containing rotating paddle shafts. The product is fed into the front of the machine. The trough is oriented at a small angle of inclination placed slightly in an unloading position. The product moves to the outlet as a result of gravity and displacement. The paddles do not have a transport function. They are designed for maximum heat transfer.

Condensation of vapors evaporated during processing is prevented by heat-tracing of the cover, or a small air (or inert gas) flow to a central exhaust port.
The dried product at the end of the trough is discharged over a weir into an air locking screw conveyor.

Features of the Fenton/Gouda Paddle Dryer:
  • Excellent control of retention time and temperature. This results in uniform product quality.
  • No drying air required to dry product.
  • Very low dust and air management due to the slowly-turning paddles.
  • Better heat transfer due to the specially-shaped paddles.
  • Can be used for varied sludges from virtually any process.
